About Us

Our Story

It started with my grandmother.

She spoke only Igbo, and I wanted so badly to speak with her in the language of her heart. But I couldn’t. My words broke, my tongue stumbled, and the conversations I longed for never happened the way I wanted them to.

At first, IgboLearn was just for me — a way to start again, one word at a time. But along the way, I realised it wasn’t just me. There are so many of us who love being Igbo but feel the weight of not speaking it clearly. People who carry the shame of being laughed at, corrected, or silenced.

That’s when IgboLearn became bigger than me.

Our Vision

This is more than an app.

It’s about making sure our language, culture, and identity live far beyond us. By using technology and innovation, we can protect what’s ours and pass it on.

The goal is simple: that the next generation doesn’t have to reclaim Igbo the way we are — they inherit it with pride.

Why You Should Trust Us

We’re a small core team.

We’re not professors or language experts. We are people who know the struggle firsthand — people who are learning as we build.

That’s why this is different. We’re not standing far away telling you what to do. We’re right here in it with you, building for ourselves as much as for you.

We imagine our children speaking Igbo better than we ever could, and that’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

We’re not here to impress you with credentials. We’re here to do the work; with you, for you, and for generations to come.
